Plug part #'s needed
Changed plugs to NGK's stock heat range. I cleaned out the garage and tossed the old AC rapid fires they were one heat range colder. Parts guys can't tell heat range only know part #'s. Have custom chip that may have turned off knock sensor. Need to use colder plug can anyone help. I would like to go back to the rapid fires. My car is a 91 and still use the plugs with washers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What plug part #'s did you get? If it's something like BRK5EIX, then you'd want a BRK6EIX or BRK7EIX. I'm going from memory on the exact part #, so it may be slightly different, but I'm positive about the 5/6/7 thing.

Re: Plug part #'s needed
Not Sure but the queston was raised after I saw white looking plugs with afew showing some gray areas and some speckling on them. I always run the 93 octane fuel, and I'm not sure with headers and no cats and a B&B 3" exshaust if I would even hear any detonations. The chip in my car was done by Marc Randolph. Does anyone know him or even heard of him before.

Doesn't matter if you can hear them. It matters if you are getting knock. Just because you buy 93 octane doesn't always mean you are getting good gas. |

Re: Plug part #'s needed
Thats why I pulled plugs and looked at them. I don't even trust the service station. Just because I buy Sunoco 93 octane doesn't mean thats what I'm getting. Just trying to rule things out. ninetyfive percent of my driving is highway miles in sixth gear at 65mph to 85mph. But I do try to blow things out a bit on occasion.
