Default Byron Dates

Patiently I spent all winter porting my intake, mostly with a Dremel which is akin to digging your way out of prison with a spoon, and now I am waiting for the first Byron test and tune so that I can best my 12.54 from last year.

So whats the ETA on a track day here in Il? Pete I know you saw my handy work on the plenum and are probably running alittle scared at this point, but I promise not to spank you too bad(this is called baiting )

Dominic, Hans, Don, Jeff, PAul, Al, ..........anyone interested in going this month?

Anyhow, fired up and ready to see how it runs.

Drive it a bit to the track, and then drive it a bit down the 1/4 mile.

I'm up for moral support at the moment. Gotta check out a vibration thing before "tracking" it.

I see y'all go Byron to run. Is the Route 66 track too expensive or ???? It is a lot closer than IN (south of Joliet on - IL 53 (old US-66)). The reason I mention it is b/c they have scheduled "Test and Tune" days on a semi-regular basis during the summer months. From what I understand, it is a "come one, come all" format.

I have a good friend that works there and I can get the particulars, if that should interest anyone. (Forgive my ignorance re the "66" track, as I've never looked into running there up to now.)

some of the faster guys might be lucky to get through tech, I also heard that there are way too many cars that go to test and tune, which is only during the week and if you don't get there early enogh you may not get to run.. I ran my 89 there 10 years ago when the track frist opened.. That same yer I ran it at Byron and "Da Grove" and ran the SAME at all 3 tracks .

Also Byron is in IL out by Rockford, Paul, you are thinking of US 41.. in IN

Planning on a Byron run tomorrow if the weather is nice....ran the car today, peeked between the runners, secondaries are opening, etc

Only issue is a high idle, no vac leaks, appears throttle cable or throttle bodies are sticking alittle and not letting the blades close all the way. A small tap and it goes back down to 750rpm.
