So how fast have you taken it?
After 2 yrs finally stumbled up the "perfect road", only had to drive 70 miles or so to find it. Long story short, myself in the 90 and a friend on his moddded R1 in front of me..
He backed off at 15x-ish due to some winds and was surprised to see the Z still in his sights. Didnt feel a thing, car felt fantastic at that speed, coulda stayed there all day. Pulls as hard at 120 as it does at 80 Im hooked

Re: So how fast have you taken it?
There is no road in Alaska I would take any car to 150. There are some pretty long straight streches, but rough terrain on either side, not smooth enough, and lots of wild animals running around even in the cities. You hit a moose even at seventy and you are in serious trouble. A wolf at 100 toast! I'll keep it on the track or Drag Strip. No place here for that speed on the track either. I have driven a dragster 198.97 mph in 7.34 sec. 1/4 mile though. That was in the early 70's. They now do much better than that with Pro Stock!

Rubbish, my first speeding ticket was on the Seward Highway just past the O'Malley exit. I was doing 116 in a 55. I've also been in a ZR-1 doing 140 on that road. It's what gave me the ZR-1 bug. |

Re: So how fast have you taken it?
not nearly as fast as most of my bros!
To tell the truth....I don't remember what the speedo was saying, just the tach .....tach in 4th gear hit 4600rpms...fastest I've ever been, or at least it seemed like it. I gotta say the car has more that me! I know that at 120 it feels like you could get out & run faster. On a good road this car is decidedly uneventful...no fuss at all. Tom

Re: So how fast have you taken it?
as a lot of you know from following my post's/replies, out of my Zee's, i've driven them a total of about 250 miles or so. not each, combined milage. pretty sad i know. had to get the garage finished, remember? the 93 & 95 i haven't got up to speed at all. i had my 90, when i first got it, up to 154 going up an incline on a curve but i saw a few cars up ahead i was catching way too fast so i thought better of that & got off her. felt good up till then.

Re: So how fast have you taken it?
145, limited by "track" conditions, and possible road force balancing anomalies.
Where does one get tires road force balanced and just plain balanced(!) for "life to begin" (in the Chicagoland area)?? (Discount Tire sold me my GY F1/D3s, but gives me the "deer in the headlights" look when I ask them about RFBing.) P. |
