Hurst Shifter
I've purchased a Hurst shifter for the ZR-1 and need a little advice on installation of the shifter. I remember seeing a Thread sometime in the past showing how to install it, but can't find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

After that, read the instructions and read the FAQ here. It's really rather simple to do. Just a PITA to get everything out of the way. KT

Re: Hurst Shifter
There is a write up (with pics) by Johnny "Phrogs" over on that "Other Forum Who Shall Not Be Named".
http://forums.*************.com/show....php?t=1063558 You will have to cut and paste and edit the link for it to work. It's obvious what part is missing. Good luck! Tom

Thanks for the info about checking for bearings. Sure enough mine didn't come with any although the box said it did. Please let me know the Timken numbers

Re: Hurst Shifter
Double check your shifter again - There should be a small needle bearing cage on each side of the shifter body. I just got one from Jeg's - and the bearings are there. I can't see how they would be missing - They are press fit.

Re: Hurst Shifter
A lot of the Hurst Shifters are shipped without the bearings.
If you try to call B&M (who now owns Hurst), good luck. They said I would recieve my bearings in a few days. That was four months ago. The bearing number is Timken HK1010. You will need to find someone who can order them with their weekly order, I couldn't find anybody that would order them seperate. They're just not big enough or enough money to justify a seperate order.
