What I found out about the ZR-1 this last week >>>
First...this forum and the folks on it remain a tremendous resource of information on the ZR... thanks guys
1. MY 90 did not have a R2D2 dome on the light sensor of the auto HVAC system and appears this little dome started with the MY91 run 2. No need to go into heart failure after seeing a header stud missing... seems even having more than one missing aka NOT installed at time of manufacture is common 3. Reasonably cofirmed that conversion of steel half shafts to alumimun start at MY 90 VIN # 610 (mine is #566 and has the steel versions) 4. This one went around the block several times with what appeared to be the conclusion that until MY 91 or 92 the trans tops were NOT engraved with the VIN number of the vehicle... Well I just removed the trans top to replace a small part and behold>>> There it is... #566 and that is MY90 5. ZR-1 tax continues to impress me Any one else learn something new about your ZR in the last couple weeks? Michael |

I have both tops as well. Only the acrylic top is Vin# stamped.

I think this closes the loop... the MY90+++ trans top has the VIN # and the standard painted hardtop does not...
