For anybody wanting a B&M shifter. Might be able to pick this one up cheap.

do you have one of these John? i haven't really noticed anybody talking much about aftermarket (B&M/Hurst) shifters for our cars. i have never went looking for any threads either, to be fair. is there much improvement or not a ton? i know the Viper guys say they help quite a bit. just wondering...

I have the Hurst and there is quite a difference. Much better shifts and more positive feel.

Haven't tried the B & M, Bill Boudreau www.zfdoc.com modifies them. He installed one in Uly's car in Vegas and it has the shortest throws I've ever seen.

Kinda depends on whether you use the big white ball, the big black ball, or the factory handle in your hand. (NO JOKES!)

I like mine, I was consistantly missing third gear with the factory shifter, now--notsomuch...

I do like the feel, and they aren't hard to install at all.

What is involved with installing one of these?

Lots 'o discussions about this like:

http://forums.*************.com/show...ht=short+shift

Go to a ZR1 GTG and try them out! I like mine....
Bill Boudreau modified Hurst. Check out

http://www.zfdoc.com/S6-40ShifterOptions.htm

I can't comment on the install as I had Bill place the shifter in my new trans when he built it.
