Interior Lights stay on
Help, I have the manuals for my 92. The interior lights stay on until the buss times out in 15 minutes. I have checked codes, used ccm diagnostics, all OK.
I need to locate the ccm, but the manuals are not clear on the location. where is grey plug? I am stumped. Even checked the main ground on the bell housing. Any ideas are appreciated. If you are a c4 elect person I need your help. Thank you!! Jerry 1992 ZR1, DRM 600 |

Re: Interior Lights stay on
I assume you did all the steps in the Service manual?
CCM is behind the radio controller, Access panel is on the driverside console panel

Re: Interior Lights stay on
Woa! Codes, CCM?
KISS (keep it simple s...) No offense intended at all, but my guess is any of the three light switches isn't making proper contact. One on driver door, one on passenger door, one on the rear hatch. Plunger type, and they wear. Try opening one door/hatch at a time and push the plunger in and see if lights go out. Then shut the door/hatch and again see if they go out. Someone (OK, me) has been known to put black electric tape that matches interior color on the nub that the switch plunger contacts so that the plunger goes in further and shuts off the lights. I have also heard of others removing the switches and cleaning the contacts. You could even buy new switches. And again, not to insult, but is the lights dimmer lever off? Good Luck, Been there, Done that Ted Hey Jerry, I just re-read your post and you said you followed the manual. I don't know what it says, so if you already checked these things again I apologise. Re: Interior Lights stay on
Thanks...I had a combination of an aftermarket security system and two interminent door switches that were making diag difficult. In the end I removed the sec sys and replaced both door switches, now all is well. Thanks for the input!!!

Re: Interior Lights stay on
When I got my Z it had a little felt piece on the striker of the rear hatch. I was like what is this? Took it off, and the lights stayed on. I guess that was easier for the previous owner, than adjusting the switch.
