Default Anyone using an Electronic Ratio Adapter ?

I am doing a rear gear change and kind of like the versatility of an Electronic Ratio Adapter (ERA) for recalibration of our digital speedos. Does anyone have one of these ? Do you like it and is it accurate ? Where do you mount it ? Sorry for so many questions. Just want to find out if it is something I want to do. Thanks.

Contact Bill Boudreau. I understand he has been installing them with rear end gear changes. www.zfdoc.com

I have used the electronic speed calibrator for about 8 years.
I first put 4:30s in didn't like them then 4:10. I like them. Have 335s
on rear now. Recalibration is just a switch away.

Use the gears from Marc. Not that hard to install. I've seen a few boxes and the install was crap. Plus with all the wiring you have just introduced another electrical failure point.

I bought one but never installed it. The problems I could see were:

1. You had to cut the wiring (it could have been made a plug-in job but I guess the 50 cent connectors were just too expensive...)
2. Where the wires came out of the box was just a big hole drilled through the plastic case. No sealing or anything to protect the components inside from damp, gunk etc.
3. No way to secure it easily (no plastic 'belt loops' or anything.
4. The thing needed mounting under the car close to the vss output on the gearbox. So not really much easier than doing the gears.

The box I ordered was from Corvette Central, others may be different. I decided to get the gears from Marc.

Thanks, for the comments. Don't think ERA is for me. Buying gear from Marc.
