Cam Cover Emblem
Jeffvette,
A few months ago there was some discussion about cam cover emblems on the forum. You had posted that you were either thinking about buying, or had already bought, the molds to be able to reproduce these parts. Are you going to be making any? If so, will they be raw metal or painted? Thanks. |

Re: Cam Cover Emblem
I have some that need to be painted. I just haven't had the time to sit down and do it. Let me get some done over the weekend.
Here is a picture of how they look. http://pnwzr1.net/Nick/Plenum/IMG_0216.JPG |

Re: Cam Cover Emblem
Nice work Jeff! I have another bunch boxed up to send you, hopefully tomorrow.
Do you still want to try and get them made from aluminum? I got a source.

Re: Cam Cover Emblem
Dan, it depends upon how sturdy the alum is. I would like for it to have the same stiffness charactersitics as the original emblems did.

Re: Cam Cover Emblem
The originals were coined from aluminum sheet stock with some temper to it. Because the new ones would be cast they would have no temper but should be almost as ridged as the originals. If you wanted, some temper could be added to the cast ones by heat treating after they are cast. I don't think that would be necessary though.
One bonus of using aluminum is that, as I'm sure you know, it powder coats really nice!

Re: Cam Cover Emblem
Whenever you get a stock of finished ones, I'll take two of 'em!
