starter rebuild kit
Is there a kit available that would let me rebuild a starter myself? Or a list of parts needed?
New starter is already in the car. I can send in the old one for a core refund, or try to learn from it. I'd rather try to learn if possible. |

Re: starter rebuild kit
Right in Wazoo's hands. Come on Saturday for maintenance day and Dan can show you what he did with mine. I believe we have several rebuild kits at Jim's.

Re: starter rebuild kit
Hey guys. I need to rebuild my solenoid as well.
From my research, I see that I need the Denso 053660-7061 plunger kit, which comes with contacts and a plunger. Will I need anything else? Is there a how-to write-up I can reference? Last edited by anton28; 06-10-2024 at 11:52 PM. |

Re: starter rebuild kit
Well, I was able to purchase the Denso 053660-7061 plunger kit and just went to purchase another one for a second starter, but I'm told it has been discontinued, and I can't find it anywhere online.
Does anyone have a lead on one? |

Re: starter rebuild kit
File the contacts to remove carbon deposits. I even use a die grinder stone on my battery drill to shine them up. The starters seem to require it at 30-40k miles of use.
