Correct Part - Brake Master Cylinder
Can anyone confirm if this is the correct part number for a 94' ZR-1 brake master cylinder?
AC Delco # 18M391429 Assuming this is the correct one, any other parts that work pretty well? Any reason to use a different part? |

Yes, the AC Delco 18M391429 will work. Might consider replacing the safety switch while your at it.

Is the safety switch GM Part # 10074131? Do you know if I need to be concerned with the correct port size on a 94', 3/8 v. 12 mm? |

Wow, the info on that page was very helpful actually. Now if only Eckler's price was a bit more competitive. Their master cylinder is more than double what other sources are asking. |

I would not buy from them either. The AC Delco unit or one of the other name brands from Rockauto might be the best prices you will find. I had no idea 95-96 had a different thread switch so good you asked so I?ll know what to look for when I have to replace my 95 unit. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Correct Part - Brake Master Cylinder
I received my new master cylinder, the model from Ecklers above but purchased from another source for less thank half the price. I compared it to the existing one on the car and everything is a perfect match except for the reservoir. There is a hose attached to the side of the reservoir on the existing master cylinder, however the new reservoir has a solid circle where the hole should be. I know I can use the old reservoir if needed, but I would prefer to use the new one. Am I missing something here?

Re: Correct Part - Brake Master Cylinder
Attached are a couple of pics that someone else posted that represents my issue.
What I received looks like the cleaner one. As best I can tell from other posts on the CF, the reservoir is an issue. Other than using my existing reservoir, what are the options? |

Version you bought most likely is for 95. Can you switch the reservoir? Notice below part says 92-95 and has the nipple? Pictured part will not work on a 95. Model year differentiation is getting worse as time goes by. https://corvetteparts.com/item/brake...tion-1992-1995 Last edited by secondchance; 09-15-2021 at 09:43 PM. |
