wheel well cooler openings protection
Before the plastic grid gets broken owners might consider adding stainless steel woven mesh to the grid. I used SS safety wire to draw the screen up to the plastic by wrapping the wire around the oem plastic grate. Works great. I would post a picture but not sure how on this web site.

Re: wheel well cooler openings protection
I read on forums that a fair amount of '19 Zroners are worried about the plastic grates and are adding metal screen overlays to them.
Keep in mind that each of those plastic grates is behind two heat exchangers. The front exchanger is for the supercharger charge air cooler and the rear exchanger is an auxiliary coolant radiator. Whatever extra protection you add, you want to make sure it's coarse enough so that it will not restrict airflow through those heat exchangers.

They don't sell the grates septate from the entire wheel well. $155 for a new one. Haven't installed it yet. They old one though is just falling apart and seems brittle given the fact that it is supposed to protect a radiator.
Anyone else having issues with these? Steve 2019 #2718 Steve 2019 #2718 |
