help with lowering bolts???
hi all, i am wishing to lower the arss of the Z an inch or two. i have heard it is a simple bolt chang. anyone know what size bolts and the procedure to do it? thanks

It's really easy. Vette Brakes and Products sells the bolts you need for about $20. They're 2 inches longer than the stock bolts. To do the swap. get the rear of the car up in the air with jack stands under the frame. Then put a jack under the rear spring on the side you want to change. Make sure the jack contacts the metal pad ot the end of the spring, not the fiberglass body. Raise the jack slowly until it lifts off the spring cushion (a rubber cushion). Remove the cotter pin, nut, and bolt, and install the new bolt the nut. This is also a good time to replace the spring cushions which get a tad raggedy with age.
The nice part about the afternarked spring bolts is they allow you to adjust the height as often as you like. They also allow you to compensate for the factory lean found on some cars. |
