Default Endangered Species Parts list

I saw that Pete had posted for sale 2 Secondary Injector Relays. That got me to thinking about some other “unique” parts and more specifically the LT-5 has that do not appear to have substitutes in the Corvette world.
These are the kind of parts that our ZRs cannot run without. IOW, the motor is a boat anchor.
Maybe some of u would like to add to this list if u can think of anything.
As a start:

1. Ignition Control Module
2. Ignition Coil Housing
3. Secondary Injector Relay
4. Piston Rings

Feel free to suggest other parts.

As for interior console trim with "POWER KEY" you can use a regular console
trim from 90-91 just cut out a hole to fit the "POWER KEY" like i did when i added the automatic trans back in 2004.

Piston rings is arguable as others have had luck with the total seal replacements.

Arguable as the megasquirt unit is pretty much plug and play (with minor tuning).

Why would you ever need a replacement thermostat housing?

Rear ZR1 specific aftermarket bumper moldings have been available on Ebay for about a year.

There is a workable replacement for this, just not OEM.

Total Seal does not have rings compatible w our motors. Have not made them since early 2010’s. There are no rings they know of that would fit our ring grooves.

Sorry but MS is not plug and play, not to mention u lose CCM comms.

You didn’t say “exact OEM part.” You said “substitute.” There are substitutes the car will run with. You don’t need a fuel mileage calculator to drive the car. If you meant OEM equivalent replacement, then you would be correct.

Total seal still has the rings in their catalog and would make them if you wanted to pony up.

I have a MS on my 1990 so I’m aware of its plug and play-ability as well as its limitations.

I work in an industry where we support 50+ year old legacy engines, so I live this every day. Hell, I deal with 4-5 vendors that were suppliers for OEM LT5 parts.
