Driveway Bottom out
Anyone have the issue where your car bottoms out at even the slowest speed on your driveway. If so what did you do to resolve this ? As you can see from my pics the driveway has a small runoff all the way around my culd-da-sac

Re: Driveway Bottom out
Are we talking the spoiler scraping (normal) or something else?

Re: Driveway Bottom out
That is spoiler issue.
A little concrete and couple pipes (steel or PVC)

Re: Driveway Bottom out
An easy, temporary solution would be a 2x8 piece of wood placed over the low spot. It will work well, but is will be a PITA.
If it is your spoiler, I'd just cringe and deal. I put a new spoiler on my 91 about 3 weeks ago. It tool me about 60 minutes.

Re: Driveway Bottom out
I assume you are not driving into the driveway nose first. If so then you need to approach at almost a parallel angle and come into the driveway. If there is a car on the street next to the entrance that could be an issue.

Re: Driveway Bottom out
Here's what I did to help loading my low race car into the trailer on a regular basis. Maybe you can do something similar.
Slowly go into (or out of) the driveway and right before the spoiler starts to touch, mark that as the beginning of where you need to start raising the nose of the car. You'll want some kind of "bump up" under the tires from that point until you get past the problem. Sorry, I don't have any great ideas about what material the "bump ups" might be. For my trailer ramp door I just fastened 2"x8"s. If it isn't often, use boards with handles and just know where they need to be placed. But, we're pretty fortunate that our front air dams are pretty tough and cheap, and don't show scrapes much. |

Works every time!
Just remove before snow plows come along if applicable. https://www.amazon.com/Car-Driveway-...540902285&th=1 Marty |

Re: Driveway Bottom out
I would bet theyll make you remove that if it impedes water flow...

Re: Driveway Bottom out
That is a great find Marty! I ended up hiring a contractor (our lawn guys) to bust up the last 10 feet of my driveway, regrade it and pour new concrete. Problem solved but yours is a better deal!
