Default Fidanza and a Sprung Hub Disc

Like many here, I shortly plan to install a Fidanza FW and a Sprung Hub Disc of an LT1 Camaro. I chose a McCleod Disc because of my positive history with them. I know that the raised hub side of the disc fits inside the cavity in the FW. I noticed that the flat side of the disc is marked “ Flywheel side”. Obviously it won’t fit that way. Can’t imagine the direction of rotation would affect this type of disc. Have any of you had to flip the disc over to install it? Attached are couple pix of the disc.

As I recall (now), I have a ZR-1 Veleo pressure plate; not the LT1/4 PP. I'm using a Center Force, sprung hub disc from Summit #381039, if anyone is interested.

I’m using the ZR-1 Valeo pressure plate as well.

I don't have the answer to your question, BUT the angular cut of the friction surface must have some purpose other than aesthetic, otherwise why do it.

A call to McLeod could answer definitively. If there is a purpose and it is labeled incorrectly, your call would give them an opportunity to rectify the issue.

Good point Jerry. When you flip disc they still go in the same direct. So that, apparently, should not be an issue. I will give them a call.

Hans,

I seem to recall that the "flat side" was toward the flywheel. I've got the sprung hub disk out of the setup. I'll look at it to see if I can find any clues to the orientation. Here are the three laid out after removal..

With the Valeo (ZR-1 or STD) PP the raised hub side of the disc does not fit facing the PP. Hence the flat side cannot face the FW. It does fit nicely flipped the other way.
