Re: C4 Corvette ZR-1 Values Are Starting To Rebound
Prices on GOOD cars have indeed been firming up.
Price guides and books do not buy cars. People do. If you happen to have the car that one person wants, and it meets their demand for condition, mileage, color, etc. then the check books come out. There will still be price discussion, but the check book is out. "Car People" are funny that way. There are some that only buy price; but there are also others that simply want THAT CAR! Personally, I have the "car guy/gal" affliction as well. When it is the right car for me, price is not the deciding factor. I am not alone. Marty |

But special colors, combos, etc. will always bring higher prices, whether the market is soft or not. Hagerty isn't an "off the cuff" valuation tool. While I believe the market has flattened out I've seen no evidence that it's picked up. The clean 53k mile 1990 in FL for 16.5k is a prime example. |

Re: C4 Corvette ZR-1 Values Are Starting To Rebound
I have a 1995 base model Corvette, 300 hp when it was stock. I put 20,000 into this thing to make it look like it does. I don't expect to get all that money back, nor do I wish to sell it. Still one of the most beautiful Corvettes made!

Re: C4 Corvette ZR-1 Values Are Starting To Rebound
I started looking at ZR1s about a year ago. Still looking for the right car for me. However lots of cars are way overpriced and are sitting around. Found one near me that is perfect for what I would like but the owner wants $30,000 for a 94 with 50000 miles on it. Price correct would be in the High Teens and that's why he's had it for sale for 2 years.
I think that the only true statement is there there are fewer original examples. But the market has been very unkind to these cars. |

Re: C4 Corvette ZR-1 Values Are Starting To Rebound
Is it not slightly ironic that everyone looking for one is complaining that all the good ones are "overpriced", but as soon as you've acquired one, most topics become a discussion of how undervalued these cars are?
If not even the Z-reg members are willing to pay premium for these, who will?
