Appreciate the heads up. I had used the high mileage 10W30 on my C5Z06 but just went to Mobil's up dated (March 2017) product sheet to check the phosphorous and zinc levels and they are lower now even in the high mileage oil than they were a few years ago.
See the following link: https://mobiloil.com/~/media/amer/us...pecs-guide.pdf I don't want to contradict your nice gesture letting people know there is currently a special going on, but based on what I just looked up, I would no longer recommend to use the basic synthetic Mobil oils that are readily available at local stores due to the low levels. Our engines were designed to use the higher zinc and phosphorous levels (over 1200). I'll stick with AMSOIL. |
