1990 corvette base model
There are a couple of stroker upgrade kits on Ebay for around $600, anyone know if these kits are good or questionable? I'm aiming for low 400's in hp. Street, not drag.
I'm reading that if I do the 383 stroker conversion kit, the block will need to be notched because there are some clearance issues with the stock rods. Has that been true for anyone else? According to the research I've done, Im gonna leave the original rods(5.7"), use new rod bolts ARP, DON"T use 400 rods. Light weight pistons from SRP, ROSS or Linata, flat top aluminum. Zero Deck, gasket will be the clearance. AFR 195 heads ( 50 HP increase) and Hydraulic cam, 10:1 compression Before someone suggests engine swapping for more displacement per square inch, I want the stock motor left intact with matching numbers. Just in case. |
