There are enough members of the Registry nearby u who probably would tag along to help look at it.

Re: potential ZR1 purchase
Can you give us a few more details? Any mods? Price? Have injectors been changed?
Motor is pretty bullet proof if maintained properly.. |

Re: potential ZR1 purchase
Sounds like a fair price with the miles and paint issues.....I would, when and if you get to test drive it, make sure you turn the power key to full. These Z's are a different animal when that key is turned on and all 16 injectors come to life. And if any motor issues are present, they will reveal themselves. Check the little things, does the antenna work, and radio. All weather-strip seals good, or cracked and need replaced. As stated before, the engines are pretty much bulletproof if maintained. But the little things on a 26 year old car can add up quickly, trust me...... Just be patient.

Re: potential ZR1 purchase
if it's sll stock the car should idle around 650-700 in neutral..If it searches, than maybe there could be vacuum leaks under the plenum....If the car is otherwise really clean, I wouldn't let it bother you...Removing the plenum ( which is something that every ZR-1 owner should know how to do at least once) is not that difficult..Remember, your plug wires, starter, some vacuum lines and coil packs are underneath the plenum..
