Default Why are people looking for the sawblades?

Hi,

I got 4 sawblades here that I don't really plan on using (my car has the '94-'95 rims which I think are WAY better). And I think I've red that the sawblades are heavier.

So why? Are they supposed to be beautiful or I am missing something?

If you look at the design of the saw blades they are actually functional. They are designed after the cooling caps run on the challenge cars. They pull in cool air around the rotors and pads to cool them off.

VW guys run them on their cars too....this thread shows the inside of the wheel and you can see fins run all the way into the wheel to pull air

Most people probably seek them out as original equipment, always good to have

Oh I see! So performance-wise, the sawblades are better than the '94-'95 style...

I guess I'll have to make a decision soon!

Do you have the option of keeping them all? If so, I'd do that and make a decision later. That way you'll have options. If you get rid of a set you might regret it later.

I always have that option but not a big fan of it, I don't like to keep parts everywhere, especially because that is not my only sports car.

Like you, when I bought my 91' it had the sawblades on it. I liked the later model wheels better. Bought some and put the sawblades in the garage
But after all these years the old wheels are starting to look pretty good to me.

When in doubt, always keep original parts, if you've got the storage space.

I wonder if their design *really* improve braking...
