Default Speaking of derrieres...

I was at a great car show for Veterans near my home in Illinois (described more fully in my post in our East Central Region section at: http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25368) and snapped this picture of the back end of a Lotus. There are probably a few of us who might want to post the same message! The show itself was eclectic and large with about 40 or so Corvettes (and only one ZR-1). Open only to veterans (unless you are displaying a car). Located at the VA Center in North Chicago and will be on July 16 next year.--Bob

Sounds like it was a nice show.

Were you able to tell the driver of the Lotus, that your ZR-1 is related (at least by various design features)?

I did talk to the lotus guys and told them about the LT5 engine but they seemed not too excited about it. Kind of caught up in their own Lotus thing. With the encouragement of the Lotus club as few years ago I tried to get admitted to the local annual British Car Union show based on our Lotus heritage but was not allowed (despite the fact that they allow Nash Metropolitans with Austin engines!) Oh well-- Bob

I see, nice try.

Maybe they're all still sore about 1776 - 1783.

I did the same thing at an all British car show here in Jupiter a few years ago, same reaction...huh?
So I parked my car near the entrance to the show field, with the hood up and a little sign on the plenum, "Lotus Design".
That caused some head scratching. And when I left, I gave the Limeys a 7K shriek of LT5 that none of their machines could equal.
