Default Rev Limiter

Hi,
I am entered in my first hillclimb on Sunday, can anybody tell me if my 1990
ZR1 has a rev limiter ?

Yes. IIRC, the stock 90 imiter is approx 7100 rpm.

However, due to the normal lag in the analog tach movement, you may experience the affect of the limiter before the tach reads 7000+ rpm, especially at WOT in the low(er) gears.

If you have the stock chip you should be able to see the shift light that tells you when to shift

True enough. But the rev limeter is @ a higher rpm than the shift light trigger.

Do not keep it over 6200 for a period of time, water pump cavitation

Your LT5 engine has a rev limit at 7072-RPM, but keep in mind that the LT5 doesn't make a whole lot of power beyond 6500 or so. In a hill climb, especially on with lots of curves and few or no long straights, you're going to be better to use a gear change strategy which keeps the engine between peak torque and peak power rather than up near the rev limit. Also, keep in mind that a rev limiter will not protect you from overrev on a improper downshift or "downchange" as some of you Brits say.
