Default Need some advice: looking at a 1992 black ZR-1

Hi all,

I am a new member. I am currently researching a 1992 black ZR-1 in New York.

Vin is 1G1YZ23J9N5800467.

The car has 50 k miles and has a clean carfax.

I have wanted a z since they came out when I was in high school and now am in a position to own one. I am about 500 miles away so it is not as close as I would like.

Here is the link.

My first instinct is to have it inspected by a tech or a Chevy dealer.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Great site, I have learned a lot on these forums.

Welcome

My first suggestion is to get this ZR-1 inspected by a Forum Member. Extremely few Chevy Dealers have ever seen or heard of a ZR-1.
You cannot find more ZR-1 technically informed individuals than many Forum members.

WHere in NC there ncnick? I'll be glad to check it out with ya' there; don't know too much, but I know who to get with on the boards here in short order.

Welcome onto the boards there.

Some stuff is not on CarFax. If CarFax tells you nothing, that's what you know - nothing. Seems like a good deal @ $16,500. Perhaps negotiable...

edit:
Body looks good, engine? Spark plug wires are correct placement; may indicate detailed work. Good cleaning around ZR1 emblem; no wax jam buildup..........................

Is this correct routing for the secondary ports vacuum?

And thanks to all the guys who didn't whine when I posted those FSM copyrighted / licensed stuff in my threads...

( and to think I complied with a mod's request to delete a pic of him in a Challenge Car in NCM Museum, so he wouldn't get in hot water)

Thanks to several guys here for sending parts FREE; BearlyFlying, WeGone, Geezer, GoldCylon, and more there, TonyD, mike100, fletchusmc...

Good looking car with a really cool color combination. The price seems on the low side by 3-4000, but could just be wanting to sell it fast.

I'd get a correct oil filter too....the Frams don't have a decent anti drain valve....

Looks very clean and a great price as well.
It was built 24 ZR-1's after my #443 on the line in BG.
Good luck on the potential purchase of this ZR-1.
