Exclamation Auxiliary Electric Fan INSTALL

Anyone install an auxiliary pusher fan up front to help with cooling? I am about to embark on a new project. I would like to piggy back off of someones knowledge if possible.

UPDATE! SYSTEM INSTALLED, GREAT RESULTS...READ ON

Why? I have a 165 degree thermostat and the fans programmed to come on at 185 and off at 180. On a hot day in traffic I never run over 190. You can have your fans reprogrammed thru your chip and do all of what you want. Besides I don't know if there is room for an electric fan. MHA

My guess is it would be difficult to install a aux. pushing fan on the front of the cooling stack. You wouldn't want to put in between the hvac and the oil cooler or between the oil cooler and the radiator because it would likely restrict flow more than it would enhance it.

Know that fans which push are less efficient than fans that pull

If you need better cooling my advice would be:
1) Go to a higher-capacity radiator
2) Seal any holes which allow air flow to bypass the radiator
3) Make sure the OE cooing fans are working properly.
4) Revise the fan-on strategy in the cal
5) Make sure the interior of the cooling stack is free of debris
6) Make sure the front air dam is intact.
7) Go to a 170 or 180° thermostat
8) If possible depending on ambient, decrease antifreeze percentage and add either DEI Radiator Relief or Red Line Water Wetter to the coolant.

Thanks for the info guys, I have 4 core radiator, low stat and Chip reprogrammed. I was just wondering if it would help anymore than my current configuration. Might just tap into the ground side of relay to activate. Still coming up with my operational concept for execution.

You know me I am always trying new things. Remember my water/meth install?
I'll let you know what results I get. Should have it done before BG.

No mods to timing to take advantage of water/meth. Car ran (felt smoother) with the injection on. I notice the difference when on vs. off.

Going to re-run again this Aug at Aaron Scott s when it is hot.
