As the title states, I am looking for a little help identifying the brakes on my car. The calipers are easy since they say "Brembo" on them. How about the two piece rotors? I can not find a single identifying mark on them. The rotor hat and the mounting pieces are the same light blue color and are aluminum. Does anybody recognize these?
I would estimate them to be from around 1995-1998. Below are pics of the rotor and calipers, front and back of the rotor, and last the mounts. Any ideas? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those are Brembo rotors. Looks like a custom adapter for the rear caliper mount.

Did a little snooping and found this fellow who is a source for Guido who built
Brembo system upgrades for ZR-1s in the late 1990s: http://www.movitbrakes.com/kontakt/ TF Enterprises 14781 Pomerado Road, No. 226 92064 Poway Unites States of America Tel.: 858-883-2655 Homepage I doubt TF was around then but he might be some help. Your real concern is where to get replacement pads and rotors - some of this stuff was 993 Porsche. The other possible is Callaway who also did conversions in those years too. Hope this helps, Glenn

So what is wrong with them?
Mine have always squeaked; even when new. ![]() |

I may revisit this and put some thread-lock on all four corners. Any thoughts on this? I know they get hot, so I would need to investigate the temp rating of the thread-lock. These may be impossible to find, or at least very expensive to replace the rotors, so its worth preventative maintenance on my part. |

http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?fo...ction=category BTW it is not expensive I think somewhere around 300 for a pair. -Daniel Almost forgot don't use the thread locker just safety wire them. |

Hey Eric - who did you buy that car from? Does it have a roll cage and a differential oil cooler?

Ok, I didn't want to embarrass myself by asking, but here goes...
Does anybody who has worked on these Brembo brakes have enough knowledge they could share some basic maintenance methods? I have bled the fluid this week, that was easy, I am not seeing how to change pads, and don't have a good feel for what correct torque values would be for the bolts that need to come apart. I can disassemble everything and put it back together, but that isn't what is needed to change pads, etc. I'm open and appreciative of any guidance. |
