Does anyone know this car? Appears to be a DRM 385 600HP; has a black motor but no mention of a being a black widow. It says the motor was rebuilt and had ran the 24hrs of Lemans, also the stock LT5 goes with it. 36K Last edited by USAFPILOT; 02-05-2013 at 12:43 PM. |

It didn't show me a car in the link but this one has been discussed I believe. DRM built a few Black motor Z's that were not Black Widow's (Same with Morrison and Baker). Also I am almost 100% positive JVD still has the Le Mans motor. It was installed in BW #8 for a bit.
Also something interesting, at least to me, the Purple Callaway Body Z that Robert De Marco has now was in the shop at DRM at the same time the BW's were being done and has the same engine treatment except no black paint. odd? Daniel |

That is not a Black widow car, If you are looking for something nice and rare that is definitely one of the cars to buy it has a DRM600 as opposed to the DRZ500 (Black widow). My car has the DRM500 the difference was Mercruiser did all the modifications on the DRZ cars where my engine was built at DRM.
Doug took special care of all of the Black widow cars when he took them apart and shipped the engines to Mercruiser for what was a laundry list of what could be done to the engine. From what I understand any part that came off of any car had the owners name written on so the same parts went back on the same cars. When the 8 cars were done George car #2 had the most upgrades. Here is a really good Article that was Written By Jim Van Dorn back in 1998. http://corvetteactioncenter.com/spec...l#.URMibx3TKCk |

When I bought the 91 CAB I had made a deal with the current owner, One month later I find out Paul Dehnert TT is going to be auctioned off at Bloomington Gold. My wife would not let me get a HELOC loan to buy it. Now she kicks herself in the azz as she was always a Corvette Woman and see how rare some of ZR-1 are becoming.
