Default Looking to fix my A/C

Didn't realize there was regional sub-sections. Was posting on another thread about the A/C. Anyway, I have a 90' and the air will blow out cool for a little bit, then becomes warm. I assume the R 12 needs to be recharged. Does anyone know someone in PA or nearby that could do that? Or anyone that could convert to R134a? Would rather recharge the R 12, to keep everything as original as possible. Any clue on the costs of either?
Thanks, Joe

Hi,

You seem to be north of Philly.
I am not familiar w/ any auto service up your way. My suggestion would be call up local AC specialty auto services shops and find out if they can add R12. Also, inquire what the cost would be to go to R134a.

Your problem is most likely low freon, However, I have had ZR-1 cooling problems that were were not freon or compressor issues. I once had a bad relay that cycles the compressor and I once had a shorted wire to the compressor.

I recommend having a good AC repair shop do a diagnosis and then decide the best way to go.
