Default Changing '90 ZR-1 license plate bulb

Preparing my new-to-me ZR-1 for its first Texas state inspection the only safety item I found needed attention was the passenger side license plate bulb (the ZR-1 has a bulb on each side of the plate and I understand the non-ZR'1's have only one).

I searched the Forum but didn't find much that helped me remove the bulb and the owner manual didn't spec the bulb type. Most folks suggested removing the two Phillips head screws securing the license plate bulb assembly because of limited access but the two screws on my assembly had been fastened by a gorilla doing part time work on rear deck components and I managed to strip the threads on both screws. However I found that by removing the license plate holder I could twist the bulb holder (the top 1/2" of the column that contains the bulb - see picture below) in the assembly. The bulb is a Type 24 miniature and not a 194 bulb as some suggested.

"my assembly had been fastened by a gorilla doing part time work on rear deck components"

I resemble that remark!
