There is a thread on CF about the use of GTO aluminum sheel spare that fits a C4 brake upgrade for our cars. The stock GTO spare fits with a C5 brake caliper.
Did anyone realize this??? I didn't. http://www.ebay.com/itm/250992459201...WAX:IT&vxp=mtr

Do I understand this? This would be just fine as a replacement for the original spare that came with our cars? Does anyone think this would fit in our spare tire carrier?
I need to do something as my spare is 22 yrs old and I don't have much confidence in it any longer. TIA ![]() Tom

Well I'm going to see if I can find one in a salvage yard locally. I figure I will pull my OE spare out and take some measurements and do the same to a GTO spare. That should be good enough to determine the fit issue.
Thanks Jeff! ![]() Tom

I plan on buying one. I will have center exit axhaust, so I will put the spare in a nice bag and carry it it behind the seats, I suppose. Maybe powder coat the wheel the same as my Dymags.
