That spark was a thing of beauty! That guy fabricated that control circuitry or that is an aftermarket product?
Would it be possible because of the 32bit processor to adapt that to our odd ball crank trigger? Do we even have a copy of the program that runs our ignition system, or is that also still top secret at GM? That spark intensity is just a beautiful sight!

Tom,
He designed the circuit with the Buick V6 Turo in mind BUT he suggests it has a great deal of flexibility. I'll be providing him with some wiring diagrams but I think the Buick Module and ours are similar altho the LT5 was more sophisticated. He confirmed a suspicion I had about why my LS coil conversion wasn't working. I had the car running on the first set of coils which were the square truck coils. I later switched to the round coils with a heat sink. Apparently the latter ones have a very tight window for dwell and so were not forgiving regarding the dwell time programmed into the LT5 module. I'm sure his ignition module allows for user defined dwell, which would be awesome! But you can see why I have pursued the use of LS coils on our motors. In fact he had driven his GN around for six months using a similar coil firing concept that I had devised and =Jeff= built.  I am sure someone like carter et al can come up with a nice looking bracket that would enhance the look of the LT5. Frankly, I thought the 8 coils and 8 shorty plug wires accentuated the mechanicals of the motor. Last edited by XfireZ51; 10-02-2011 at 12:17 AM. |

Dominic, I'm speechless......you guys are the Da Men!
So we would use our box and hook it up to his box so the new coils are driven by that TR6 box using our ignition programing? Okay I know I'm behind the curve on this, but am I close? You guys just amaze me with your ingenuity!
