Default ECM help

It appears that I may be having a problem with my ECM and will need to send it out for repair.

Before I do that I thought I would post here to see if anyone had a spare working ECM that they would let me "rent" for a few days to insure that is my problem. I would make it worth your while and return your working ECM within a few days after receiving it.

PM me if you can help

Thanks!

Okay Dennis we are on the same page. I will send it out 10/17.

On another note something crossed my mind as I read your description of the symptoms. Just for the heck of it do you remember the issues that Tom Crabs from CA had with his car. He was chasing ghosts and he came to find that the female sockets in the plugs for the ECM harness had become loosened from using a test light to trace circuits. This looseness had caused an intermittent contact situation with the pins on the ECM side of the connection. The pins were floating inside the female contacts of the harness plugs. Just a thought.

Thanks Tom. The car had been running well for a couple years until going to Stillwater. Then it started to have high idle and was running very rich, then the next morning no idle and running really rough. Then without doing anything, the car started to run normal and ran normal for two days then ran fine the next weekend and then suddenly on one start the car wouldn't idle again, then after many starts, it ran normal again for several starts, then back to no idle and bouncing between lean and rich.

Also during this time that it is behaving badly, the fans don't seem to run and the car runs very hot.

After reading data from Tech 1, data would just drop off and then Tech 1 couldn't get data from the ECM.

I did re-seat my Prom but that didn't do any good.
