Removing the Front Bumper
I'm going to paint my front end and was curious just how hard it is to pull the front bumper off as well as the panel above it in front of the hood? It looks like it might be a nightmare but maybe I'm wrong, I hope so for once I am. Thanks in advance.

Re: Removing the Front Bumper
I did it to an LT1 car (same)- there's a bunch of small fasteners on the sides and top- the bottom requires the airdam removal and 3 small screws down by the radiator if I recall. turns sigs and fogs all get disconnected.
recommend putting a strip of tape along the edge of the hood and side skirts to prevent scratches from the inevitable contact- especially on the sides where the wheel well liners attach to the painted side part of the front clip. to recap- taking it off is easy, but putting it back on without gaps and a difference in hood to bumper height will be the real challenge. |
