David,
I am still putting mine back together but I could spare a few hours to lend a hand. Shoot me the address.

David,

Like I said I will be on the road this Saturday - somewhere between Cleveland and DC.

Rich,
Don't forget to practice Dr. Phil's "teeth and string" trick. After your header install, WAZOO will not accept anything but 32 bolts in the holes.

One method I discussed with Jim is cut the tough to get to holes on the flange in such a way that these bolts, second row from the front, bottom, are screwed in first except for 3/8" or so. With the flange cut, headers can be slipped on followed by the remaining bolts screwed in. This may avoid 2 hours per bolt for these 2 bolts.

Yun,You know it. I will also bring along my custom fabricated 8 MM wrench for those tight places.I guess I was so busy running to the parts store, I missed all the fun you and Jim were having on the drivers side.Rich

I am sorry that I will not be able to attend. I will be at an antique show in Chantilly VA.

Good Luck George!

Yun,
I like your idea of slotting flange holes out the bottom of the 2 "problem children" bolt locations. Not only would this save a lot time on the install it would also cut a lot of time if you ever had to R&R the headers for any reason.

I was too tired to focus but when I install mine, I will take a serious look at cutting these flange for those 2 bolts - just have to make sure there is a sufficient room to manuver to slip on. George did not think there was at least for the driver side but I will give another shot st this.

George had a set of OBX headers and I had an opportunity to compare the driver side between the SS and OBX right next to each other. Runners were identical. Collector was shorter on OBX but these come with fake cats so these most likely make up the difference in length to where it mates to the exhaust.
