The very best leather treatment, does it exist?
The leather on the seat backs of my car feel like cardboard even though the car never sits out in the sun, sits outside over night or is never exposed to rain.Ive got a few leather conditioners but Ive read that the leather in these cars has a coating on them that wont allow anything past the surface.I have also read the best thing to keep the leather soft, subtle is a simple wiping with a clean towel and water.I cant stand the feel of silicone so I dont use any of the products that contain silicone.Whats everybody using, whats the best product out there?

I've heard for serious rejuvenation, a product called Leatherique works quite well. The process is a bit tedious.
I've heard the same thing about coated or spray-dyed leather. But in my experience, leather that is cared for and treated holds up a lot better than leather that is not.

Re: The very best leather treatment, does it exist?
I know what you mean Jeff. My car looks awsome everywhere accept for the 20 year old red seats. I looked at Eklers and Mid america's leather seat kits but they don't have the cut outs for all of the buttons and switches on the arm rests and they don't have the "Corvette" Embroitered on the head rest like the originals. Also my seat bladders have crumbled to pieces. The seat pump motors still work fine. A freind told me this is what I need to do! Houston has a huge corvette show once a year down town and all the manufacturers have booths set up inside the building. He said take your seats to the Eklers booth and for $800 they will rebuilt my seat bladders and re skin them right there on the spot on display as you watch them work. Plus embroider the corvette logo on the seat rest. So I'm gonna give it a shot. $800 pretty cheap for all that.

Lexol is pretty good, and neatsfoot oil is an old product that works fine too. Both soak into the leather to soften it.
