I've used Horseless Carriage twice -- once with very good results and once with mixed results.
The mixed results episode was about 5 years ago. it took many weeks and numerous phone calls to finally get the car picked up in Michigan to be transported to FL. It took so long the seller started to get annoyed and was bugging me to get the car out of his garage. When the car finally arrived I had to climb up to the top ramp ![]() John

I'm looking for pricing to ship a car from Las Vegas to MD. Intercity Lines was recommended. I received a quote for $1850. Seems a bit high but they are supposed to be good. Everything is shipped enclosed trailers. If you select someone, sure would appreciate you letting me know who you decided to use.
Thanks. |

If you're looking for cheap, I have had good luck with Reliable - www.weshipyourcar.net is their website. I used them to ship my 94 LT1 car and my 91 ZR-1. I think they are a broker, and they sub out the job to an independent driver, but both times the cars arrived quickly and undamaged.

Hey, I don't care if you use them or not, I was passing along 2 good experiences. just like my issue with the partsladi fuel pumps, YMMV. Whatever.

Just as I was passing along my information that Reliable is awful. The companies I listed are top shelf and reputable. You are comfortable with Reliable sub-contracting your job out to God knows who? I have no idea of how they work, I have just read the horror stories over the years. Cheap transport company = horror story or delivery with no damage if Lucky Expensive transport company = 99% delivery with no issues. Damage once in a blue moon I can't even believe you are bringing up the partsladi. I'm glad the partsladi sold those units because guess what they are out of business now so where you going source that part now?? Those who bought it at least have the main body to put the pumps into. |

In my reply, the first thing I said was "If you are looking for cheap" -- nowhere did I claim that the transportation services purchased this way were the best, the fastest, the safest. If you are expecting Rolls-Royce service at Chevy prices, you're going to be disappointed each and every time. As for the partsladi, I wasn't the only person they screwed over, maybe you were more fortunate, maybe you're lamenting their disappearance. It's kind of funny, actually - you're on a high horse about paying more for an auto transporter, and repeating "horror stories" about a low-cost shipper, but you're the first to defend a seller of lower-priced parts, compared to a vendor such as Kurt White, who might be pricier but is likely to stand behind a product far more than partsladi ever would. Seems to me that the original poster in this thread has a clear choice - if he's looking to save money as the top concern, he has an option to do so. If he's looking for white-glove treatment, and is willing to pay for it, you've given him something to think about. |
