Oil Dipstick
Something I have been dealing with but just forget to ask.
when I chk the oil and install the dipstick all the way it engages fine at the handle and end of the tube like any other dipstick does. but...... when i go to check the oil few days later its allways sticking out about a half inch or so, like I didnt engage it all the way. so i've pushed it back in took for a granny few mile drive and ck it and its fine. but when i go terrorize the neigborhood and chk it it is out... I dont know if I need another stick or tube or what. any ideas what causes that? and any ideas on the fix? Luis |

Re: Oil Dipstick
Crankcase pressure may be building up pushing the dipstick out.
Time to give the PCV system a good look over. |

Re: Oil Dipstick
Agreed, something is not right. Check PCV out sooner then later
I wouldn't be wailing on it until you get it figured out. Too much crankcase pressure is not good. Last edited by xlr8nflorida; 06-06-2010 at 11:15 AM. |

ok chk'd the pcv's they are fine.. messed with the dipstick and it really doesnt seem to be enaging, like a snap fit or tight at all. I barely pulled on it and it moved out. |

Just so I understand better as I've never had a problem with my dipstick (other then its weird readings it gives from time to time) I thought what I posted is that entire rubber piece- top and bottom. Are you saying there are 2 rubber pieces or seals there instead of 1? |
