WTF! It's like making candied apples or candied plenums or something. It's definitely different.

So what do we have here? Is that a real carbon fiber overlay? Fake carbon fiber? Decal? Something else?

Looks like hydro carbon the way the carbon fiber weaves bend around the curves.

I thought i do some different. My top end color were all faded and scratched. This process is call skinning or wrapping. It is real carbon fiber using with Max clr resin impregnate. I think i coat the plenum a little to thick. It 3-4 step process and 24-36 hour curing time. Its really hard to get the carbon to go all around the intricate part of the plenum. But i did my best. This is my first major project on the car. Hope everything comes out fine.

Wow! I have definitely never seen that done before. Looks cool! Will it stand up to the heat? What if you need to remove the throttle body or airhorn, looks like it's one piece over those.

Yes it is a one piece skinning. In the future should i need to remove the throttle body just take a cutting wheel and cut a straight line and remove the carbon fiber. You would have to re skin it of course. Hope i don't to do that later later in the future.

I've been wanting to do this with some interior parts but haven't had the time. How do you get the carbon fiber skin to mold around all the little twists and turns?
