Made The Plunge Nitto NT 555R Tires
I have F1 SuperCar tires on the front. They no longer make the rear 315 tire.
Finally put the order in for the Nitto 555R drag radials. Maybe I'll be able to finally hook up in the first few gears. My rear tires have been on my car for the last 10+ years. Not sure how long they were on the car before I bought it. I just put the GSD-3s on my C5 and its like a totally new car. I had original factory F1 run flat tires - got 35k miles out of those babies. They were kinda krusty after 9 years and loud as ****. Last edited by xlr8nflorida; 02-04-2010 at 05:18 AM. |

Re: Made The Plunge Nitto NT 555R Tires
I thought that G/Yr had discontinued those tires, F1 supercars, back in 06?
I also hear that G/Yr is going to discontinue the GS-D3's in the near future.

[QUOTE=ZZZZZR1;81298]hey there,
Not to take away from the Nitto Thread (great tires), but 315 F1's are still available..... Just checked 2 sources. Thanks for posting. Mind telling me where? I have not been able to locate the rear 315s. The fronts are still around. Also, I imagine they are about $800 for the rears as they are an expensive tire. I've been told I will be able to hook up with the 555Rs, they are good to about 420 HP. I'm just tired of the tire spin. Right now, I could burn through the first 2 gears, maybe even part of 3rd. My tires are like Rocks. These were like $364 Shipped. They will probably go 15,000 miles which is excellent for drag radials. GSD-3s are on their way out and everybody is discounting them. I just picked up a set for my C5 and mounted them last week. $750 to my door for all 4 tires. The back 18s were cheaper then the fronts. Check out Tire Rack. My only problem is I hate when they discontinue because then I can't find what I need if I get a unrepairable tire, need 2 tires etc. Now, I buy tires when they are relatively new to the market. Declining support of 315 sized 17 inch tires was a good excuse to get 18 inch wheels!
