Default Color Combo Data for All ZR-1's

I have completed a project to gather the color, interior color and roof option data for all ZR-1's. The data was obtained by entering all of the ZR-1 VIN's at a website that gives the RPO codes for any GM VIN. http://www.compnine.com/vid.php?vin=1G1YZ23J0L5802556

Here is a summary of the data:

The complete year-by-year lists for all cars will be posted on the ZR-1 Net Registry Website soon. http://www.zr1netregistry.com/. It may take a little while to get the data formatted and posted.

There are still 16 VIN's that I didn't find data for (16-1990). If anyone has another way to search GM VIN's let me know and I will provide the VIN's of the missing cars. Maybe somebody can stop by the NCM and look at the build sheets.

Since the 1994 and 1995 cars were all researched and listed by Art Wong some time ago, I did not redo that project.

I make no gaurantee that the data is correct. There may be errors. If any errors are found, please let me know so that I can correct the database.

I know that there are a lot of people here that maintain ZR-1 data lists. I will be glad to provide an Excel file of the data to members of the ZR-1 Net Registry. Please contact me at my email address: jim@gizmosart.com.

As a part of this project, I generated a list of the VIN's for all the ZR-1's. I can provide that list also, if you contact me.

Enjoy

Jim

Talking Re: Color Combo Data for All ZR-1's

I have them done by the years for interior and extrior but I was missing a few VIN's for some color combos. I don't know how to post spreadsheets or I would have. Let me know and I can do that. Better yet I'll send mine to Jim.

Here it comes.

The number of 91 turqs and other colors looks correct here. The number of cars and the number of cars by color did not agree in much earlier published totals. Thanks for the great job, Jim.

Yeesh man, you manually punched in 6000+ VINs (including calculating the check digit) by hand?? If you try to do something similar again, let me know. I suspect it could have been automated. Good work, though!

I "automated" the VIN generation and Web search link creation using Excel. But I had to scroll down and read the RPO data manually. Then I had code that would quickly record the results. If you know someone who can code javascript, I would be interested in finding a way to extract the perninent RPO data and record it. Then I could run all the data again to get the other interesting data such as AC control and "export cars".

Also I could double check my data. Another WAZOO member checked my data for the 1992's and found 4 errors. So a validation run would be apppropriate.

Hey Jim,

I wouldn't do it in javascript, that is a browser-executed language and I don't know it that well (I can figure out what stuff does but am not familiar enough to code up anything). But I get what you are saying.

If you are not in any rush, I'll take a whack at pulling the relevant info out (paint, interior, roof panel, anything else?) and sticking it in a small database. I could then export it to a CSV or something if you prefer excel. I'll mess around with it when I have free time, it might take a while as I'd probably try some things I've wanted to try just for the sake of trying them (I do this for a living, and am always interested in learning some new skills).
