The lock-unlock slider can be a little difficult to remove. It needs to be in the "unlocked" position, then you need to carefully pry the "knob" part out away from the door. The plastic lock slider snaps into a metal rod that is behind the plastic part.

Here are some pictures of the driver's door on my '90 Z that might help:

To remove the lock-unlock slider, position a flat blade screwdriver as shown and carefully pry out on the plastic piece:

Lock-unlock slider removed:

Then, proceed to remove all the door panel screws to get the door panel off. One is here behind the latch to open the door:

There is one hiding behind the lock-unlock slider. There are also 1 or 2 more screws behind the light above the handle to open the door. The light has to be carefully pried out (it has tabs that snap in) to gain access to these screws. You can then remove the plastic bezel behind the door open handle, unplug the door light:

Two in the door pull cup, then remove entire door pull assembly with switches and unplug the switches:

One at the back end of the door above the hatch release switch (don't forget to unplug this switch when you go to pull the door panel off):

One at the forward part of the door:

And finally, the row of screws at the bottom of the door in the carpeted area. Door panel should now be able to be lifted up then out:

Passenger door is similar.

Except you have to remove the window switch button on the passenger side to get on last screw/bolt.

Correct its deep inside underneath the power window switch on the passenger side. And there are screws behind the light in the door if I remember

Oh, yeah, forgot about that one! Now that I think about it, you guys are probably right. There might be some behind the light in the door, too. The light has to be pried out, it snaps in with tabs.

Is the door panel removal (drivers and passengers) on the 91 Z identical?

Great information...thanks

And....Jeffvette....I am assuming your Interior Project is a 90 Z? If so.....is that similar for a 91 Z?
