Yep, looks like a bad slave and/or master on the clutch. I've read all the threads and my question is, which slave has the best chance or working and which should I definetly avoid? I really don't want t do this four times like I did with my plenum

Don't be so sure it's the slave. Twice my peddle went to the floor and twice I thought it was a bad slave cylinder when in fact it was a broken throw out bearing. If your lucky its a bad slave. But if its not! Well then you know the rest.:-(**|=

Start off by checking the fluid level in the reservoir. Fill it up, pump the pedal and see what the pedal does. It will only be a temporary fix. Like moving in and out of the garage.

Thanks for the input. I'll contact zfdoc (Bill) and see what he recommends. I did check the fluid. It might have been a smidge low, but was black. When I bought the car I had Corvettes of Dallas go over it ans change out all the fluids. They didn't do the clutch, as they said it would cause more problems than it would fix. One year later, here I am.

Jim, I have the correct AC Delco/GM slave and reservoir if you are interested. Aftermarket stuff has been OK but overall can't beat factory. PM if interested. I do not have a master cylinder.

I appreciate it, but I've decided that with no lift and just getting my shoulder operated on, maybe I should just have Corvette's of Dallas do the deal. They are quoting me 4.5 to 5 hours labor on the master and slave. I can hardly get it apart in that amount of time.

Good news and bad. Corvettes of Dallas replaced both the slave and master and all is good. The a/c, however, is another story. I'll continue the post in my rabnt on the a/c crapping the bed.
