Default Most knowledgeable,step inside.

Theres a discussion on another site about when G.M. started putting 9.5 wheels on the front of the Corvette.I bought an 84 in 1987 so Ive been into C4s for awhile and from what Ive always read Z51 cars had 8.5 fronts and 9.5s on the rears for both 84 and 85.Starting in 86 the cars with the Z51 package had 9.5 front and rear. Now,back years ago the hot setup for 84-85 owners was to put 9.5s on the front of Z51 cars. Some swear that 85s had 9.5s in the front from the factory,I dont believe this is true, anybody know the scoop on this?

I think you are right with 86, but I know 88 and 89 when 17s came out they were all 9.5s

not sure on the older ones though

The Z-51 option in my 84 came with 9.5" wheels. It was built late in the model run since it was one of the first 4+3 trans cars.
