HUH ??
There are three motors that move the seat:
a.) forward and backward
b.) front of seat up and down
c.) rear of seat up and down
So what is really happening?

There's a 6-wire connector at the seat - 2 wires per motor. Each motor is reversible and the switches do the reversing; there is one switch per motor.
Sliding the control forward/rearward operates the center motor to run the seat forward and backward. Pushing the front end of the control toward/away from the center of the car runs the front motor "up/down". Same for the rear end of the control. And you can push the control bar toward/away from the center of the car to run both front and rear motors at the same time. The seat connector is keyed so you can't make a mistake. Refer to section 8A-140 in the service manual for wire colors and the troubleshooting guide. Does the RH seat work OK?

first off thankyou so much for taking the time to help me . yes the right side works fine. i would guess the switch might be bad . my thinking is that the switch wont reverse the motors that it only works one way . do you think that is correct .I do have 2 zr1s is it hard to get the wires up out of the console area. guess i would have to remove the seat ? I guess i could just switch the wires everytime i want to move a certain way (just kiddin)
