When I started my car this morning the SRC stayed on and didn't go out. I put about 70 miles on the car with multiple stops and keys cycles and it still didn't go off. One of my mechanics at work has a GM TechII scanner so we checked the codes and it give a 13 and 14 code the first time and then we cleared it and it came back on with a 13 code the second time. The car is a 91 with 47,000 miles on it and I have had no issues until now. I don't have a FSM so I am looking for a few answers on the codes and a couple of suggestions or pointers on what to do next. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Those codes point towards the shock actuators (see below). They are successfully passing their startup tests.
The easy things to check: I'd take the actuators off the top of the shock and check two things: 1) see if you can turn the top shock rod by hand (or with pliers very gently) to see if it takes a lot of effort to rotate them. 2) See how far the gear is sticking up above the outer ring's teeth. IIRC it should be about a 1/4" (but you should confirm). Last week when I was working on mine I Googled and found an informative article written by Hib: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/tech/c4/fx3/ Good luck. 12 = Start of sequence 13 = Left rear time out 14 = Right Front time out 21 = Left Front time out 22 = Right Rear time out 31 = Left Front out of position 32 = Right Front out of position 33 = Left Rear out of position 34 = Right Rear out of position |
