I bought the big red book(s) off of ebay several years ago when I still had my '95 pace car. My books are for a 1995, but my Z is a 1994, so I'm pretty sure it's all common. Anyway, back on topic I think you can buy them for well under $100. I think the earlier years had a separate manual for the ZR-1.

http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r= The manual comes with pre-punched holes for a three ring binder. You will also need a 5" binder from Office Depot or one of those stores, about $15.00 for the binder. |

I get mine either off ebay or at swap meets. I paid around 50 bucks for the 3 books for the 92 zr-1 from a swap meet. But I have got other shop manuals from ebay.
For all the books I have I paid between 30-80 bucks each. |
