ZF "NEUTRAL GATE ISSUE" - ZR-1 Net Registry Forums

Thought a new thread more appropriate than tagging onto a current shift related thread and I'm quite confident this is a "mechanical issue" not related to any hydraulics etc.

I've a friend/acquaintance that seems to not be able to get shifter to the left in the "neutral gate" to access 1st and 2nd gears. 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th seem fine and I assume the shifter is stock. This is an early ZF with lift-ring reverse.

Looking for maybe some "first hand" experience with the issue.

Ideas? The internal shifter shaft I can see has "lugs" to select the appropriate forks to control the "fore & aft" for gear select but I'm curious as to maybe some external shifter issues that maybe could potentially be responsible for the issue.

Just a "right to left" in the neutral gate issue.
