After having a "blue tag" ZF freeze up on me while cruising the interstate, and opting to buy a new one instead of trying to fix the old one, Bill Boudreau @ ZFdoc.com recommended the Castrol TWS 10W-60 synthetic (available at BMW dealerships). I suppose anything equivelant would suffice, RP or whatever.
