Default oil cooler...wow!

Guess I never realized what an awesome oil cooler we have on these cars!

Part out is going great...I have a junk yard at my house now though

This oil cooler is bent...the car it came off was obviously wrecked...any idea what might have caused something like this...well besides the wreck. These bends aren't "stock" are they? Just looked funny to me.

If anybody needs parts, I got a lot!

Rick

ah someone may have jacked it up from the front and missed the main support that goes across there. May have hit the oil cooler?

That connector is on the top where the rubber connector hoses go to the engine block. Is there any damage on the bottom of the oil cooler or the car?
Hitting something large in the road might do something like that but you'd expect to see other tell tale damages.

So that's where those extra 6 quarts of oil go...

No other signs of damage. It's curious...more to come...the whole thing is obviously tweaked somehow, in what direction? I don't know.

Thanks for the comments...and yes, that thing could hold a lot of oil...somebody said once how much, but I don't know.

a couple of options,

aftermarket replacement, cut the tubes off and weld on some fittings

the oil cooler doesn't do too much, just a "trickle" until the thermostat opens up at 250

some oil is always passing through it but until you get over 250, just a bit

someone could have tweaked the tube trying to get the fittings loosened,

pretty ez to do.

It almost looks like it was bent before the plate was welded on???
