Default Hard times in the land of plenty.

This truly saddens me to see. Accross the street from me about 5 houses down there's a nice two story house with a nice young couple and 4 kids. The husband is a computer programmer. BMW and a Lexus suv always parked in the driveway. Beautiful yard. This guy and his wife worked on it all of the time. Your classic upper middle class family that had been there almost as long as we have. In 2000 when we bought our home the neighborhood was not even done being built. This guys house and ours were 2 of only 6 houses that were complete on our street. Construction going on all around us. But about 6 months ago I started to notice something changing. First thing was the constant downgrading in vehicles until they were down to just one older Toyota pickup. The second thing was the yard became totally neglected. Next the house. Next a big garage sale. Next a big moving truck. They've been gone 3 days now. So today while walking by the house I noticed a notice on the front door.

Poor guy got laid off and the house got foreclosed on.

I didn't know them that well. Said hi a few times at the mailbox but that was it. Life goes on.

Moral of the story---buy American, support your neighbors. American made stuff may cost more, but not nearly as much as the above story.

I agree Frank. I'll keep my guns and money, you can keep the change. (Plagerized from somewhere).

I try to make a point and buy American whenever I can. The other day I bought something in the Harley store with the Harley Davidson brand on it and was shocked, just shocked to see "Made in China" on it!! Go figure! Harley stuff ain't cheep to begin with, then to see "Made in China" was a low blow!

I feel for your neighbor.

Don't these people get it? We buy Corvettes and Harley's because we believe in buying American, regardless of price! When I pick up a T or someother whatever, and it is marked "Made in a foriegn country", I feel like putting it back on the rack and telling them "When it says "Made in America", I will buy it!

The National Rifle Assc. sent me some thank you coffee mugs. You got it, as I was putting them in the dishwasher "made in china" on the bottom. I almost threw them out, now I think I will

I worked at a company that had all of their pump castings made in china. They all had made in china stickers on them. I was told to remove all of the made in china stickers off the castings and put their made in USA stickers on them after assembly. It made me sick to my stomach to do it. It was a total fraudulent lie.
